Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. What types of Film do you transfer?
A. Standard 8 (aka 8mm), Super 8, 16mm
Q. My Super 8 film has sound can you transfer that also?
A. Yes, if there is sound on your film it will be on your DVD also
Q. How do I identify whether my film is Super 8 or Standard 8 film?
A. It doesn't affect the price for transfer, but if you want to know
what type of film you have the image below might help:

As you can see from the image above Super 8 film has smaller
holes in the film than Standard (or Regular) 8.
Q. Do I get my films back after the transfer?
A. Yes, you do. You receive your original films and
your newly created DVD.
Q. How much do extra copies cost?
A. This rather depends on what you have transferred:
Most extra copies are $10 per copy. If it is a short digital
video tape you have transferred an extra copy may be
as little as $5. If you have a MemoryDVD created
the extra copies are generally $20 each.
Q. What is a MemoryDVD?
A. MemoryDVD's are used as Digital Slideshows for events
such as 21st Birthday, Anniversaries, Weddings etc
We take your old photos, slides, negatives and movie
footage and add some music that is meaningful to your
loved one. Each image has movement to it: so it
slowly zooms in or pans left to right, or vice versa.
We also print a DVD cover and label featuring your
favourite photo from the slideshow.
Examples of these DVDs are available for viewing
instore at Yarragon and will soon be available
online... check back for more info.
Q. How much does a MemoryDVD cost?
A. The cost is dependent on a lot of things, including
how many photos you include, how many songs you
want to use etc. But the average price for a 10 minute
DVD Slideshow is approx. $195

for you to pickup my films from me?
A. Yes, that's fine. If, for instance, you live in Narre Warren
you might want to meet me in Berwick to pick up your films.
Q. I have a lot of Camcorder Tapes, how many tapes do you
put onto each DVD?
A. Even though a DVD can hold upto 6 hours of video footage
we would recommend putting one tape per DVD, as the quality
of the DVD starts to deteriorate if more than a couple of hours
is put on it.
Q. How much discount can you give me for multiple tapes?
A. The general rule is 8 - 12 tapes gets your 10% discount
13 - 19 tapes gets you 15% discount and 20+ tapes gets
you 20% discount. But I am an approachable person and
am happy to bend that rule slightly.
Q. Can you transfer my home movies to an iPod?
A. Yes, this is one of our new services and more info
will be available shortly. But we can now transfer your
films or tapes to the following portable devices:
iPod, iPhone, PSP
Q. Will the DVDs you create from my home movies work
on my new Blu-Ray player?
A. It is best to let me know that you have a Blu-Ray player when
you bring your films in, as it can sometimes affect the type
of blank disc I burn your films onto:
some Blu-Ray players prefer DVD+R rather than the more
generally acceptable DVD-R. The short answer is YES, your
finished DVD will work in your Blu-Ray player.
Q. I use a Playstation 3 to watch Blu-Ray movies and DVDs
will the DVDs you create work in my Playstation 3?
A. Yes, the Playstation 3 is one of the machines I test your
DVDs in before they leave my studio.
